The holiday season is glowing with lights and decorations. Today, learn how to capture the perfect illuminated pictures to share with family and friends around the world.
One of the most beautiful sights in Washington during the holiday season is the annual White House Pageant of Peace and its magnificent National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse. In this photo safari, led by a leading photographer, you will learn the techniques of nighttime photography: how to get the correct color balance on the evening scene through the use of your digital camera's "white balance" menu, or how to use color filters for your film camera.
We will photograph the National Christmas Tree, National Menorah (if up) and the many other decorative items on the Ellipse, with a long view to the illuminated South Portico of the White House and its huge holiday wreath. Beginning just before twilight, our safari will also capture the new lighting on the Washington Monument against the deep blue of the winter sky.
