Like Santa Claus – Travel the world – in under two hours! Today, a virtual expert guides takes us virtually to explore one of the most culturally fascinating areas of Washington, D.C. – “Embassy Row”. In a single afternoon, you’ll stand at the borders of Ireland, Romania, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, and more! PLUS, you will have multiple pieces of international chocolate to complement the visit to each embassy.
- TOUR: As we virtually celebrate on international soil, we will be joined by one of Washington’s leading tour guides to enlighten us on Embassy Row, the mysteries and origins around these fantastic buildings, and the stories within their walls. We’ll also learn about this grand boulevard with the most impressive turn-of-the-century residences in the city, many designed in the French Beaux-Arts style. We will head “inside” to multiple embassies and learn how their countries celebrate the holiday season different from us. Including (among others): Germany, France, Israel, Ireland, Kenya, Japan, Portugal, and more!
- CHOCOLATE: As part of the tour, we will be distributing multiple pieces of unique international chocolate (recommended per our friends at many embassies). As we virtually visit each embassy, we will advise you which chocolate to eat. Because this event is virtual, we will offer two options to get the candy:a) If you order within a week of the event, we can offer you the option of mailing your bag of chocolate to you in advance. Please keep in mind, you will appreciate the tour a lot more if you do not eat your candy until the event itself; or
b)If you live in the general DC/MD/VA area, we will set up pick up points the day before the event. At these points, you can meet our TTD representative to receive your bag of chocolate in preparation for the virtual tour.
- EMBASSY REPRESENTATIVES: While we cannot guarantee this, we are hoping and expecting some of our friends at the embassy to jump on the Zoom to give you an official Halloween greeting.
